Confusion rocked Federal University Gusau (FUG) as terrorists bandits in their large number carrying firearms stormed the institution’s student hostel and abducted a yet to be identified number of students, mainly females.
The incident occured last night at about 3am (Friday morning) where the Bandits ransacked three female hostels (off campus) and abducted many.
‘Media Smarts Nigeria’ can authoritatively reports that combined military/Police operatives have responded to distress calls about the attack but couldn’t locate the exact scene as revealed by a male student who spoke to SMARTS NEWS on phone, there was a heavy gunshots that they believed was from the military.
The attacked hostels are situated at Sabon gida village, attached to the university’s entrance (second gate) along Gusau-Funtua road in Gusau the state capital.
“Though some of the students escaped and are returning, we can not ascertain the number of the abducted ones now.” the student said
FUG have been facing a series of student abductions, mostly those residing off campus.
As at the time of filing this report, Many security operatives were seen advancing in the nearby forest while others were deployed at some locations in the university including very senior officers of both Nigerian Army and Police as well some operatives in mofty expected to be men of DSS.
No official statement or confirmation yet from neither the Police nor the management of Federal University Gusau as regard to the incident.
