The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) in Zamfara State has presented a Correctional Welfare Insurance Scheme (CWIS) cheque to the family of late Superintendent of Correctional Service, Bala Aliyu Magaji.
The cheque, worth hundreds of thousands of naira, was handed over on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in Gusau.
Presenting the cheque on behalf of the Controller General of Correctional Service, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, the Controller of the Zamfara State Command, CCS Musa Tanko, said the support aims to ease the financial burden on the deceased officer’s family.
He added that the CWIS was established to offer financial protection and social security to officers and their families in times of need.
Receiving the cheque, the next of kin, Sumayya Bala, thanked the Correctional Service for the kind gesture and support shown to the family.
