
The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has graduated 30 personnel of Licensed Private Guard Companies (LPGCs) after completing a two-week basic retraining programme.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASCII Umar Mohammad M., on behalf of the State Commandant, CC Sani Mustapha, who urged the operatives to use the skills acquired to boost security in the state.
Speaking at the passing-out parade for Batch ‘C’ 2025, the Commandant commended the role of private guards in complementing conventional security agencies through credible information sharing, especially in a state battling security challenges.
He advised the operatives to remain consistent, competent, and compliant with the establishment acts governing their profession, stressing that security was a collective responsibility.

Earlier, the Head of Department for Private Guard Companies, DCC ST Oyinloye, expressed concern over the low turnout of participants, noting that only eight out of 40 registered companies took part in the training.
The Secretary of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), Zamfara chapter, Mr. Mudassir Iliyasu, who represented the chairman, appreciated the NSCDC for its efforts in regulating the sector and urged companies to comply with licensing regulations.
