Zamfara Imposes Nighttime Motorcycle Ban 8pm-6am amid Security Concerns

In response to the persistent insecurity in Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration has announced a ban on motorcycle movements across all 14 local government areas from 8 PM to 6 AM.

This decisive measure, effective from Monday, July 15, 2024, aims to enhance security in the region.

The decision was made during a security council meeting held today in Gusau, chaired by Governor Dauda Lawal.

The state government emphasized that the ban is purely for security purposes and is not intended to target any individual or group.

Malam Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media (Broadcast), conveyed the government’s announcement, explaining the urgency and necessity of the order to curb criminal activities often associated with motorcycle use during nighttime hours.
