FEDPONAM Gets Five Solar Boreholes from Alumnus

The Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda (FEDPONAM) has received five newly completed solar-powered boreholes donated by Hon. Dr. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu, a member of the House of Representatives and alumnus of the institution.

This was disclosed in a statement by Aminu Lawal Bungudu, Chief Spokesperson to the Hon. Member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency, on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Hon. Dr. Zannan Bungudu, represented by Aminu Lawal Bungudu, called on the management and students of FEDPONAM to maintain the facilities properly to ensure their sustainability.

“Water is indeed critical in our lives, hence the need for the management and community of this institution to devise means of sustaining these facilities in order to avoid vandalization,” he said.

Receiving the donation, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Aminu Yusuf Kaura Namoda, appreciated the gesture and described it as a model act of giving back. He said the boreholes would greatly ease water challenges on campus, which had been affecting learning and working conditions.

The Rector added that the lawmaker’s contribution is a shining example for other alumni and leaders to emulate. “Zannan Bungudu’s name will be written in gold in the history of this institution,” he noted.

Other notable contributions by the lawmaker include full sponsorship for 50 students from Bungudu/Maru and the awarding of a contract to establish an Artificial Intelligence library at the Polytechnic.

Hon. Zannan Bungudu graduated from the institution in the Class of 1997 (CPA).
