The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have suspended their industrial action, which was initiated due to disagreements over a new minimum wage and increased electricity tariffs.
TUC President Festus Osifo announced the suspension on Tuesday in Abuja following a joint extraordinary national executive council meeting of the unions.
The suspension will last for one week, with a formal communiqué to be released shortly, Osifo stated.
The unions had begun their strike on Monday to protest against the hike in electricity tariffs and the lack of agreement on a new minimum wage.
