Gov Dauda swears in Zamfara head of service, 12 perm sec

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has sworn in Yakubu Sani Haidara, as the new Head of Civil Service, alongside 12 newly appointed Permanent Secretaries.

The swearing-in ceremony was held on Thursday at the old chamber of the Government House, Gusau.

The governor also announced the creation of an Office for Donor Activities and Programs, which will be headed by a Permanent Secretary reporting directly to him.

Governor Lawal described Haidara as a seasoned administrator with over three decades of experience, emphasizing his role in spearheading public service reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency and accountability.

The appointment process for the Permanent Secretaries, according to the governor, was rigorous, involving refresher courses, examinations, and assessments by the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN).

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to merit-based appointments and professionalism in the civil service.

The governor charged the new officials to align their actions with his administration’s six-point agenda, ensuring policies and programs contribute to effective governance in Zamfara State.
