The Sokoto State chapter of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI) has elected a new executive committee in a seamless election held on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

The nine-member committee was elected under the supervision of the AANI National President, Ambassador Emmanuel Obi Okafor, and the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, according to a press release by Brigadier General SK Usman (rtd), AANI National Publicity Secretary.

The election took place in one of the chambers of the Sultanate and was praised for its transparency and smooth conduct. Dignitaries including the former governor of the old Sokoto State, Mallam Yahaya Abdulkarim, were present to witness the proceedings, which reflected the core values of leadership and professionalism that AANI stands for.

The newly elected chairman, Alhaji Shehu Usman Ladan, will lead the chapter alongside eight other officials for a two-year term.

In his address, the Sultan of Sokoto congratulated both the outgoing and incoming officers, urging the new leadership to build on the strong foundation of unity and service.
