
Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have intercepted ransom money of over twenty-three million naira, recovered more than one hundred and sixty rustled livestock, rescued kidnapped victims, and neutralized terrorists during operations across Zamfara and Sokoto States between 8 and 10 September 2025.

The troops launched offensives along the Shinkafi to Galadi and Tubali axis, clearing terrorists’ hideouts and intercepting five suspects carrying over twenty-three million naira believed to be ransom payments for kidnapped victims.
The suspects and the money have since been handed over to relevant agencies for investigation.
In another raid, troops ambushed terrorists moving stolen livestock through Anka and Tureta areas, leading to the rescue of eight kidnapped victims and the recovery of more than one hundred and sixty sheep, which were handed to the respective local government chairmen.

Troops on patrol at Lilo in Gusau also engaged terrorists in a fierce gun battle where six terrorists were neutralized, while three soldiers lost their lives and two others died later from injuries sustained during the clash.
The operation has assured the public of its determination to sustain the pressure on terrorists and bandits while calling on citizens to provide useful information that can help restore peace in the North West and beyond.
