Matawalle Visits Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Charges Troops to Maintain Resilience

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, has urged personnel of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to remain unwavering and committed as they intensify efforts to restore peace across the North West.

This was contained in a statement released on Saturday by the operation’s Media Information Officer, Captain David Adewusi.

The statement noted that Dr. Matawalle visited the Theatre Command Headquarters in Gusau on Friday, shortly after observing the Juma’at prayers at the Command Mosque on November 14, 2025.

He was welcomed by the Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Bello Idris, who described the visit as a strong demonstration of the Federal Government’s continued support for military activities in the area.

Dr. Matawalle praised the troops for their bravery, dedication, and sacrifices in tackling criminal groups within the theatre. He encouraged them to remain alert and resolute as operations intensify towards achieving sustainable peace.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing the necessary backing, including logistics, resources, and enhanced welfare to keep the momentum of the operation strong.

The Minister also commended the command’s leadership for its recorded successes and stressed the importance of sustained cooperation among security agencies.

The visit featured an operational briefing, exchange of souvenirs, and a direct address to the troops, during which Dr. Matawalle expressed deep appreciation for their professionalism and service to the nation.
