Zamfara Assembly Swears In New Member

The Zamfara State House of Assembly has officially sworn in Hon. Kamilu Sa’idu Kasuwar Daji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the new lawmaker for Kaura Namoda South Constituency.

Bello Madaro Kurya, Chief Press Secretary of the Assembly, confirmed that the oath-taking took place on Thursday during plenary at the Assembly Complex in Gusau, following a by-election recently conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Administering the oath, Speaker Rt. Hon. Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki, stressed that the exercise reaffirmed the unity and legitimacy of the Assembly under his leadership. He noted that despite efforts by some to cause division, the House remains constitutional, united, and committed to discharging its responsibilities.

The Speaker also assured that the Assembly would continue working closely with Governor Dauda Lawal’s government to ensure good governance, development, and security across the state.

During the sitting, members considered a motion sponsored by Hon. Halliru Abdullahi Kuturu of Zurmi East, urging the government to construct a road linking Koluwar Riyojin Dankadau and Kaface in Mayasa/Kuturu Ward. The motion received unanimous support and will be forwarded to the executive for action.

Speaking after the plenary, Hon. Kasuwar Daji pledged to serve his constituents with dedication, promising effective representation and cooperation with fellow lawmakers regardless of party differences to advance the progress of his constituency and Zamfara State.
