The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has participated in the 2025 United Nations International Day of Peace celebration in New York, USA.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Rabi Yusuf, Press Secretary, Office of the First Lady, Zamfara State.
The global event, themed “Peace is a Verb, Act Now for a Peaceful World,” highlighted the importance of unity, justice, and collective action in building a peaceful world.
Speaking at the event, Hajiya Huriyya described her participation as an opportunity to represent Zamfara and Nigeria on the world stage. She stressed the role of Nigerian women, particularly wives of governors, in promoting peace, stability, and social development.
She further urged women and youth to become champions of peace by showing kindness, fostering unity, and supporting sustainable development goals.
Her presence at the gathering reaffirmed her commitment to a peaceful and prosperous society.
