Security forces have assured residents of Kaura Namoda South of full protection during the supplementary state constituency election scheduled for Thursday, 21 August 2025.
Assistant Inspector General of Police deployed to oversee the exercise, AIG Muhammad Hussaini Gumel, gave the assurance while addressing security operatives before dispatching them to their areas of duty. He warned officers against interfering in roles reserved for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), stressing that any defaulter would face the full wrath of the law.
“No vote-buying will be tolerated. Operatives must remain professional in safeguarding democracy and protecting citizens,” Gumel stated. He also urged journalists to carry out their duties with passion and patriotism, noting their vital role in ensuring peace and national development.
Similarly, the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Muhammad Rabiu, who joined senior officers on special duty, reaffirmed that no stone would be left unturned in protecting voters and their rights.
“This is a history-making duty. Be professional, never compromise, and provide only security for the election processes,” he told officers.
The security deployment includes personnel from the Police, Military, Civil Defence, Immigration Service, Correctional Service, and Federal Fire Service. Authorities emphasized that only federal security agencies are authorized to provide election security, warning that no other outfits will be allowed to participate.
