Umar Bin Khaddab College Matriculates 36 Nursing Students

Umar Bin Khaddab College of Nursing Sciences, Kaura Namoda, Zamfara state, has held its inaugural matriculation ceremony for 36 students admitted for the 2025/2026 academic session, marking a giant milestone in the institution’s quest for academic excellence and professional nursing education.

The colourful ceremony, held at the college premises in Kaura Namoda, featured the formal induction of the students into the academic community, who administered oath by the College’s Legal Adviser, Barrister Abdullahi Ma’aji.

Speaking at the event, the College Provost, Nurse Tukur Ibrahim Kaura, charged the students to uphold good conduct and discipline, urging them to shun examination malpractice and all forms of social vices.

He stressed that the college would not compromise standards, noting that the institution is training professionals whose duties directly involve human lives.

According to him, academic excellence, professionalism and ethical practice remain the core values of Umar Bin Khaddab College of Nursing Sciences. He further advised the students to pay serious attention to their studies to justify the confidence reposed in them.

The Emir of Kaura Namoda, Dr. Sanusi Muhammad Ahmad Asha, who was represented by the Modibbo of Kaura, Alhaji Sa’adu Aliyu, congratulated the matriculating students on securing admission into the college. He urged them to be good ambassadors of their families and communities and to make the institution proud through discipline and hard work.

In separate remarks, the Zamfara State JAMB Coordinator, Alhaji Mamman Dogon Yaro and the representative of the Zamfara State Ministry of Health, Nurse Tukur Aliyu Shehu, commended the college management for its commitment to high academic standards. They encouraged the students to embrace punctuality, dedication and respect for rules as keys to success.

The ceremony, which attracted traditional rulers, education stakeholders and other dignitaries, also featured a goodwill message from the proprietor of the college, Sheikh Yusuf Umar Liman. He called on both students and staff to conduct their affairs with the fear of Allah and to avoid acts capable of tarnishing the image of the institution.

The successful matriculation ceremony reveals the Umar Bin Khaddab College of Nursing Sciences’ determination to produce competent, ethical and highly skilled nursing professionals for the health sector.
