The Corps Commander Artillery, Major General JO Adeyemo, has raised the need to strengthen combat readiness and operational efficiency in the North West as he visited the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

The visit, which took place at the Theatre Command Headquarters of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, was part of Major General Adeyemo’s working tour of the 382 Artillery Regiment aimed at improving coordination and effectiveness within the joint operations area.
During an interactive session with the Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Idris, and senior officers, the Artillery Chief commended troops for their resilience and professionalism. He acknowledged the sacrifices of soldiers and praised the support of their families, describing it as critical to mission success.

Major General Adeyemo said the visit was guided by two key objectives: reinforcing the Chief of Army Staff’s philosophy of professionalism and excellence, and assessing the level of combat readiness to support national security efforts. He noted that the Corps of Artillery has fully embraced this philosophy in training, deployment and operations.
He explained that the tour would allow him to review artillery operational procedures, identify gaps and strengthen coordination, with the goal of achieving visible improvements. He stressed the importance of unity of purpose, urging all formations to remain aligned in executing their duties.

In his response, the Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Idris, described the visit as timely and strategic, saying it would enhance artillery fire support coordination, capacity building and the overall effectiveness of ongoing operations. He reaffirmed the task force’s commitment to denying terrorists freedom of action across the North West and pledged continued synergy with the Corps of Artillery to consolidate gains against terrorism.
