Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, CP Kolo Yusuf today (Thursday) patrolled the entire troubled Gusau – Yandoto – Tsafe – Funtua Road to assess the security situation of the Highway.
In a statement signed and made available to Radio Nigeria in Gusau by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Mohammed Shehu said, CP Kolo who personally supervised some strategic points on the route, has deployed operational additional Police tactical squads to ensure the safety of commuters flying along the route.
According to the PPRO, in the course of the patrol, the commissioner of Police also mapped out some salient and strategic locations along the road which were instantly fortified with the deployment of Police tactical operatives drawn from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), and Anti – Violence Squad of the Command .
He noted that During the patrol, the CP equally visited Yandoto Divisional Police Headquarters and Police operatives deployed along Yandoto – Mada road where he commended their resilience to safeguarding communities of the area and employed them to be more alive to their duty.
The Commissioner of Police assures the general public that Police in collaboration with Sister Security Agencies will sustain the ongoing effort to restore normalcy in Zamfara state, and tasked members of the public on active intelligence sharing with Law Enforcement Agencies for effective policing of the state.
