A gang of bandits attacked a public school, Government Secondary School, Awon, in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State and abducted about 10 students on Monday.
Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, confirmed the incident in a statement made available to newsmen today (Tuesday).
Aruwan highlighted that the Kaduna state government received preliminary reports from security agencies regarding the abduction of the students as detailed reports were being awaited to clarify whether the incident occurred within the school premises or elsewhere as the exact location of the incident is yet to be ascertained as at press time.
