Inconclusive: CP Lawal Daura calls for peaceful election in Kebbi State

In his efforts to maintain peaceful atmosphere in the April 15, 2023 gubernatorial supplementary election in Kebbi state, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Lawal Abubukar Daura, held a meeting with the Police Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Tactical Commanders.

In a press statement obtained by Media Smarts Nigeria, which was signed and issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Kebbi State Command, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, it was narrated that, CP Daura charged the Policemen in the state to be civil, polite, professional, but firm in all their dealings with members of the public during the elections with more emphasis to the respect of the fundamental human rights of the citizens.

During the meeting, CP Daura further calls on the people of Kebbi State to cooperate with the police and other Security Agencies in the state to enable them discharge their duty optimally, please.

Meanwhile, Kebbi State is one of the two states where supplementary elections will be conducted following the declaration of the state’s gubernatorial election as “Inconclusive” in the March 18, 2023 states elections across the country. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) therefore fixed Saturday, April 15, 2023 for the conduct of the election whereat the successor of Governor Atiku Bagudu would be declared by the commission.
