Jamilu Jibo Magayaki, PhD, currently serving as the Managing Director of the Zamfara State Housing Corporation, has officially announced his intention to contest for the position of State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State.
In a statement released today, Dr. Magayaki expressed his excitement and honor in declaring his candidacy. After considerable reflection and consultation with party members and stakeholders, he emphasized his dedication to repositioning the PDP amid the current political climate in Zamfara State.
Dr. Magayaki highlighted the critical juncture at which the PDP finds itself, facing challenges that demand bold leadership, unity, and a clear vision for the future. He promised to bring a fresh perspective, youthful energy, and experienced wisdom to the role, aiming to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming elections.
“I am deeply committed to uniting our party,” Dr. Magayaki stated. “I believe in inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. Together, we will strengthen our grassroots efforts, empower our members, and reconnect with the people of Zamfara State. We will build a party that stands for progress, justice, and opportunity for all.”
Dr. Magayaki’s background in politics and his passion for service are well-documented. Born on June 23, 1985, in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, he has a rich educational background and remarkable professional experience.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Management, a Master’s and a Doctorate in Environmental Resource Planning from the University of Abuja, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Leadership and Discipline Studies.
His career includes a notable stint at the Nigeria Communication Commission during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year, work with Junaid Synergy, and a role at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) since 2013.
Dr. Magayaki is also the founder of the Northern Nigeria Foundation for Environmental Education (NNFEE) and the Kaura Namoda Youth Alliance for Good Governance (KYAGG), reflecting his commitment to environmental advocacy and youth political participation.
Throughout his career, Dr. Magayaki has been recognized for his adherence to professional ethics, integrity, and principles. He is a fellow and member of various professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management and the Nigerian Environmental Society. His contributions to philanthropy have earned him numerous awards of excellence and recognition.
In 2023, Dr. Magayaki ran as an aspirant for the House of Representatives for the Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji federal constituency under the PDP platform. Recently, he was appointed Managing Director/CEO of the Zamfara State Housing Corporation by Governor Dr. Dauda Lawal.
