The former Governor of Zamfara State and current Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar in a bid to provide humanitarian gesture has procured 28 trucks loaded with over 16,800 bags of 50kg Rice for distribution to needy across Zamfara State to celebrate this year’s Eid al-Adha.
According to Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, Chairman publicity committee of the distribution said the distribution, spearheaded by the A A Yari Political Organisation, was officially announced by its Chairman, Hon. Lawal M. Liman (Gabɗon Ƙaura), during a committee meeting in Gusau.
“The initiative aims to support the needy and vulnerable populations throughout the state, ensuring they can celebrate the occasion with ease.” He stated
He noted that, each of the 14 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Zamfara State will receive 2 trucks of rice, which will be distributed by the Ulama Committee, renowned for their previous work in overseeing such charitable activities. In an effort to ensure fairness and avoid political bias, the rice will be shared among selected beneficiaries, with six individuals sharing one 50kg bag of rice.
Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar’s initiative reflects his ongoing commitment to providing relief and support to the people of Zamfara State. Hon. Lawal M. Liman emphasized the importance of transparency and integrity in the distribution process to meet the project’s objectives.
