Sen Tambuwal Launches Ramadan Aid for 20,000 Homes

By Jamilu Badamasi, Sokoto

Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, has officially launched the distribution of Ramadan relief packages to more than 20,000 households across the state.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony at his residence in Sokoto, Tambuwal urged members of the distribution committee to carry out their responsibilities with fairness, honesty, and a sense of responsibility to ensure that the food items reach the intended beneficiaries.

The senator expressed gratitude for witnessing the holy month of Ramadan and called on the people to use the remaining days of the fasting period to intensify prayers for peace, unity, and stability in the state and the country at large.

Tambuwal also reassured his political supporters about his recent defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He explained that the decision followed extensive consultations and careful assessment of Nigeria’s political environment.

According to him, consultations with experienced political analysts and scholars, including professors from reputable universities, suggested that both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) face uncertain political futures in the country.

Tambuwal expressed confidence that, with God’s guidance and collective effort, the ADC would play a key role in repositioning Nigeria’s political leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections. He also criticized the growing number of politicians joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that some are doing so to escape accountability for financial misconduct or to pursue personal interests.

He further noted that many Nigerians are dissatisfied with the current state of the nation, citing rising insecurity, increasing poverty levels, widespread corruption, abuse of office, and perceived incompetence in governance.

The senator therefore urged members and supporters of the ADC to continue registering with the party and to participate actively in future elections to help reshape Nigeria’s political landscape.

Among the dignitaries who attended the event were the ADC State Chairman, Alhaji Bello Isiyaka Kigan, and other party stakeholders in the state.
