The Executive Chairman of Kaura Namoda Local Government Council, Hon. Mannir Mu’azu Haidara, has launched the distribution of Ramadan welfare packages to support residents during the fasting period.
The initiative, held at the local government secretariat, was sponsored by the Zamfara State Government under Governor Dauda Lawal, who approved ₦100 million for the program. The support aims to ease the burden of fasting for citizens.
Hon. Haidara stated that the food items, including rice, millet, maize, spaghetti, sugar, and milk, will be distributed in five categories, regardless of political affiliation.
He assured that proper measures have been put in place to ensure the relief reaches those who truly need it.
The food packages come in different sizes, 100kg, 50kg, 25kg, 10kg, and 5kg to facilitate smooth distribution.
Some beneficiaries who spoke to ‘Media Smarts Nigeria’ expressed their gratitude for the transparent and timely support, emphasizing its importance during the holy month of Ramadan.
