Troop Morale, Readiness Key in Anti-Banditry War – Maj Gen Soyele

The Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to troop welfare and operational effectiveness in the ongoing fight against terrorists and bandits.

According to the Media information officer, Operation Fansan Yamma, Captain David Adewusi, during a three-day operational assessment visit to Kaduna and Niger States from July 9 to 11, 2025, Major General Soyele charged troops to remain professional, vigilant, and disciplined in the discharge of their duties.

At Headquarters 1 Division in Kaduna, the General Officer Commanding and Sector 1 Commander, Major General Mayirenso Saraso, briefed the Theatre Commander on current operations. General Soyele also visited the Forward Operating Base in Birnin Gwari to assess frontline activities.

He proceeded to Tegina, where he visited the 18 Brigade Tactical Headquarters and commended the troops’ bravery despite recent casualties. He pledged to honour the sacrifices of fallen soldiers by sustaining aggressive operations.In Kontagora, he held discussions with the Commander of the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Major General John Sokoya, focusing on improving training and gallantry among personnel.

The tour ended at Sector 3 Tactical Headquarters in Wawa Cantonment, Kainji, where efforts are ongoing to strengthen responses to threats around Kainji Lake National Park.

Major General Soyele urged troops to maintain high morale and commitment as the fight against insecurity intensifies in the North-West and North-Central regions.
