The Zamfara State Police Command has disbursed N94.5 million to the families of 23 police officers who died in active service.
Commissioner of Police Muhammad Shehu Dalijan presented the cheques on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, at a ceremony in Gusau.
He emphasized that while the funds cannot replace the deceased officers, they are meant to ease the burden on their families.
He also urged the beneficiaries to invest the money wisely.One of the recipients expressed gratitude to the police leadership for the timely assistance and prayed for the safety of all officers.
