Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal has established a 38-member fundraising organizing committee for the Zamfara State Security Trust Fund. This initiative aims to create a financial foundation to bolster security efforts in the state.
According to the Senior Special Assistant (Media) Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Suleiman Ahmad Tudu the committee’s formation was officially announced on Friday in a public statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammed Nakwada.
The members, drawn from various sectors across the state, include distinguished individuals with a wide range of expertise.
Headed by Alhaji Sambo Garba, MON, as Chairman, the committee is tasked with coordinating and executing a fundraising event scheduled for November 2, 2024.
The event is expected to attract contributions from various stakeholders, including individuals and corporate organizations, as part of the state’s strategy to combat insecurity.
Governor Lawal has urged all well-meaning individuals and organizations to support the initiative, emphasizing that every contribution will contribute toward creating a safer and more secure Zamfara State.
The Security Trust Fund is a central component of Governor Lawal’s administration’s proactive measures to strengthen community engagement and enhance the financial capacity of security initiatives in the region.

The committee’s efforts will culminate in the November 2 event, where it is hoped that significant funds will be raised to support ongoing and future security initiatives in Zamfara State.
Governor Lawal reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity head-on, stating that “no contribution is too small” in the quest for peace and stability in the state and the larger northwest region.
