
The Nigeria Police Force in Zamfara State has disbursed ₦8.45 million to the families of 16 officers who lost their lives in active service, as part of activities commemorating National Police Week 2026. The initiative underscores the Force’s continued commitment to the welfare of families of personnel who died in the line of duty.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, stated that the presentation was carried out by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, during a ceremony marking the conclusion of the week-long programme in the state, ahead of the grand finale at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

According to the command, the gesture forms part of ongoing efforts to alleviate the challenges faced by bereaved families. CP Bello described the event as both solemn and meaningful, emphasizing that it reflects the leadership’s dedication to supporting officers and their dependants.
He reassured the beneficiaries of the Force’s unwavering support, stressing that the sacrifices of fallen officers would always be remembered.On behalf of the beneficiaries, Bashir Abubakar expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Zamfara State Command, noting that the financial assistance would significantly ease their economic difficulties.
The commissioner also encouraged the recipients to make prudent use of the funds, reaffirming the Force’s enduring solidarity with families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
