38 midwives graduated from the Umar Bin Khaddab College of Nursing Sciences, Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State. The graduates took their oath of induction into the profession of midwifery, marking the beginning of their professional journey.
Mrs. Zara’u Laraban, Director of Midwifery at the institution, administered the oath during the sendforth ceremony, held at Kaura Namoda Town Hall, which was attended by dignitaries, well-wishers, and family members. In her remarks, she congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to uphold the responsibilities that come with the profession.
Speaking at the event, the Provost of the college, Nurse Sanusi Umar Jabaka, urged the new midwives to be good ambassadors of the institution. He emphasized the importance of respecting the ethics and rules that guide their practice, reminding them that their conduct would reflect on the institution’s reputation.
Sheikh Yusuf Umar Liman, the proprietor of the college, encouraged the midwives to discharge their duties with the fear of Allah, advising them to maintain a friendly and compassionate approach when attending to patients.
The Senior District Head of Kaura Namoda Emirate, Alhaji Nasiru Garba, Sarkin Sudan of Kaura Namoda, expressed his gratitude for the institution’s achievements in the Emirate. He praised the college for maintaining high standards of academic excellence and moral training, noting its significant contribution to the community.
The event concluded with celebrations, awards presentations as the newly inducted midwives were sent forth to begin their professional careers, equipped with the skills and knowledge to serve in various healthcare settings.
