Barely a week after the restoration of power following the blackout in Northern Nigeria, another grid collapse has been announced following frequent power fluctuations and tripping on the grid lines.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria announced that “the national grid faced a partial disturbance at approximately 1:52 PM today, November 5, 2024. TCN representative Ndidi Mbah explained, “This was due to a series of line and generator failures that led to instability in the grid, resulting in the partial disturbance of the system.”
Ndidi Mbah assured customers that TCN engineers are actively working to swiftly restore bulk power supply to the states impacted by the partial disruption. As of now, bulk power supply has been reinstated in Abuja at 2:49 PM, and we are progressively restoring it to other regions of the country.
