In a major victory against banditry, security forces have eliminated notorious bandit leader Kachalla Makore and his followers in a targeted operation on Kwankele road, in the Magami area of Gusau Local Government Area.
The bandit kingpin was reportedly on his way to retrieve the body of another slain leader, Kachalla Sani Black, who was killed earlier in the Magama Mai Rake region of Maru Local Government Area.
Makore, who succeeded the late Kachalla Damuna, had been operating around Kangon Garacci village in the Dan Gulbi axis of Maru LGA, terrorizing local communities. His death marks another setback to the bandits’ activities in the state.
A military source in Gusau confirmed the successful operation, emphasizing that troops remain committed to defeating the insurgent bandits. “We will not rest on our oars until all bandit elements are eliminated,” the source stated.
This development is part of ongoing efforts by security forces under the new military operation tagged “, Operation Fansar Yamma” to curb the menace of banditry that has plagued Zamfara and neighboring states.
