Zamfara Govt commends humanitarian minister for support  to rescued students

Zamfara State Government through State Humanitarian and Relief Matters has Tuesday commended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Betta C Edu for the financial support offered to the rescued students of the Federal University Gusau.

Director Information, Bashir Kabiru Ahmad, Zamfara State Humanitarian and Relief Matters, the State Commissioner of Humanitarian and Relief Matters Honourable Salisu Musa Tsafe made the commendation saying that the Minister has given the sum of N214, 285 to each of the 14 rescued female students.

The Commissioner said that the Minister during her official visit to Zamfara State for the Formal Commissioning of the 40 Housing Units for IDPs in Gusau paid a sympathy visit to the students at the Federal University Gusau.

Salisu Musa Tsafe explained that the 14 students are from Kogi, Katsina, Kaduna, Lagos, Oyo, Cross River and Zamfara States.

Musa Tsafe assured that the cordial relationship between Governor Dauda Lawal’s led administration and the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation led by Honourable Minister Betta C Edu will continue to yield positive impact on the victims of humanitarian challenges in the state.

The Commissioner appreciated the management of the Federal University Gusau and the parents of the students for their cooperation towards ensuring the support for the students.

It could be recalled that the students were rescued days after the abduction and continued with their studies.
