Zamfara: PDP denies involvement in political gathering in Talatar Mafara

The Zamfara State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has distanced itself from a recent political gathering in Talatar Mafara, clarifying that it had no connection to the event.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Halliru Andi, the PDP explained that its officials were in Mafara for two specific reasons: to sympathize with the Mafara Emirate over a fire incident and a recent attack in Jangebe town, and to present appointment letters to newly appointed party executives behind closed doors.

The party emphasized that the gathering in question did not reflect its position or activities. It reiterated its commitment to adhering to the ban on political gatherings imposed by the Zamfara State Government, pledging to respect the directive until further notice.

As part of its compliance, the PDP also announced the suspension of the planned launching of its zonal offices across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The party called on its members and opposition parties to respect the government’s directive and avoid organizing political gatherings during this period.
