Zamfara lawmaker laments increase in banditry activities in Tsafe west

Member Zamfara state House of Assembly representing Tsafe West, Honourable Amiru Ahmed Keta has condoled and sympathized with his constituents over the recent security incidents in the area that claimed the lives of three persons.

In an emotional press briefing in Gusau on Friday, Mr Keta said he was shocked by the recent incidents that indicate an increase in the deadly attacks by the bandits in his constituency.

“I am in shock about what is happening in my constituency, Tsafe West. The people of the area are recently under a series of threats and palpable fear that only those who are living in these areas can exactly narrate what they’re going through.

“Today, we woke up with sad news about the killing of two people in Kizara and one person in Danjibga. They were shot dead by the terrorists.

“I want to use this opportunity to extend my deepest sympathy and condolences to the people of Kizara and Danjibga for losing loved ones. I also sympathize and condole with all other villages especially Gidan Barga, Dangulbin Kwaren Ganuwa, Kuncin Kalgo and all other villages recently affected by these nefarious activities” Hon Amiru Keta said.

The lawmaker who double as the Chairman House committee on information added that despite inheriting a myriad of challenges, the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal is committed to addressing banditry and all forms of security challenges in the state.

“There is provision in the 2024 budget for funding of 4,300 Community Protection Guards and other security measures.” He affirmed 

While assuring his constituents his commitments to continue representing them purposefully at the House of Assembly, the lawmaker has also urged them to continue praying fervently towards restoration of peace and normalcy in the state.
