ZMSG provides foodstuff for needy, 60 Busses, free transportation for pupils

Zamfara State executive Council has resolved foodstuff as palliatives to two hundred thousand vulnerable families and free school bus to the primary pupils who will enjoy free transportation to their schools.

This was disclosed by the secretary to the state government, Abubakar Muhammad  Nakwada shortly after the inaugural executive council meeting at the government house, Gusau as contained in a press release signed and made available to SMARTS NEWS by the Press Secretary, Government House Gusau, Sani Ahmed Sambo.

Nakwada explained that, as part of the resolutions reached by the executive council, two Hundred thousand (200,000) vulnerable families in the state will benefit with food stuff as one the palliative measures  to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal by the federal government of Nigeria. Adding that arrangements are underway to provide another set of the palliatives to some categories of civil servants in the state.

He noted that the executive council has also approved the immediate provision of Fifty (50) Palliative Busses in the state “for a start” and another ten (10) 52-seater ‘Marcopolo’ Busses in order to reduce transportation challenges for students in the state, saying primary school pupils in particular, are to enjoy free transportation under the new palliative arrangement.
