IGP enhances operational capacity of Police in Zamfara

The Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba has enhanced the operational capacity of the Zamfara State Police Command to ensure restoration of peace in the state.

This was contained in a press release signed and made available to Radio Nigeria Pride FM Gusau y the Police public relations officer, PPRO, SP Mohammed Shehu saying the items arrived the state command headquarters, Gusau

According to him, the IGP deployed additional Manpower, Operational vehicles, Non – lethal weapons, Personal Protective Equipment and Anti – Riot Equipment from Force Headquarters, Abuja ahead of March 18th 2023 Governorship and  State House of Assembly Elections.  

He noted that the Commissioner of Police CP Kolo Yusuf while expressing  appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the intervention to the Command called on officers and men to redouble their effort and work assiduously towards achieving the mandate of conducting credible, fair and hitch free election in the state. 

The PPRO said CP Kolo also tasked Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, DPOs and all officers and men deployed for election security duty  to be  neutral, firm and steadfast to ensure the Command consolidates on the success recorded during the Presidential and National Assembly Elections. 

He urged the general public to be law abiding and desist from any act capable of causing unrest in the state, and at the same time, continue to pray for peaceful conduct of the elections in the state and country in general.
