2023 Election: CP Kolo Meets Operatives, Delivers IGP’s Message, Abolish Quasi security 

Zamfara Police Command has organized a special lecture to Principal Officers, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, tactical commanders and other operatives of the command in preparation of ensuring peaceful conduct of political activities for 2023 General Elections. 

This was contained in a statement made available to SMARTS NEWS in Gusau by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Mohammed Shehu.

SP Shehu explained that, during the lecture,  Commissioner of Police of the command, CP Kolo Yusuf informed officers and men on the commencement of campaigns/rallies and other political activities for 2023 General Election, and tasked the officers, especially Area Commanders and DPOs to ensure that all quasi – security outfits didn’t partake in election activities.

“CP tasked officers, especially Area Commanders and DPOs to ensure that all quasi – Security outfits  established by various state governments and local communities operating under different nomenclatures are banned from partaking in any electioneering campaign and other electoral processes as directed by the Inspector General of Police, as the outfits have no legal roles under the Electoral Act”. He warned

Similarly, the CP charged police personnel on professionalism and commitment to duty and warned them to desist from partnering with Bandits or any criminal syndicate, otherwise defaulters will be made to face the full wrath of the law. 

On the social media policy of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, the CP warned officers and men to ensure absolute compliance of the directives. 

“Other matters relating to the overall security and safety of Zamfara state were extensively discussed, and all the officers and men have reiterated their loyalty and resolve to work assiduously to ensure peace and security before, during and after the forthcoming 2023 General Elections”. He added

In the meantime, CP kolo Yusuf, in an effort to stem the tide of Banditry, Kidnapping and other related crimes said, no stone will be left unturned.
