NSCDC Zamfara Command Celebrates Victory at Inter-Agency Championship

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command, has celebrated its recent triumph in the just-concluded 2024 Inter-Agency Championship. Commandant Sani Mustapha hosted the football team on Monday, commending their performance and teamwork, which led to the victory.

In a statement signed and made available to ‘Smarts News’ by the Civil Defence Public Relations officer (CDPRO) Commandant Mustapha appreciated the efforts of stakeholders, including the team manager, coaches, players, and supporters, for their roles in the win.

According to him, “The leadership of the managers, cohesion, determination, and hard work of the players, coupled with the supporters’ energy and enthusiasm, were pivotal in achieving this glory.”

He conveyed the congratulatory message of the Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, describing the victory as a memorable achievement for the Corps.

The championship’s final match, held on December 14, 2024, saw the NSCDC team defeat the Nigeria Police Force 2-0.

“This victory is dedicated to our boss, the CG, and it is a testament to the Corps’ unity and determination,” Mustapha added.

Team Manager, DCC MM Omozegbai, credited the state commandant’s unwavering support for motivating the team. “The leadership and encouragement from Commandant Mustapha inspired us to succeed,” he said.

During the event, the team, led by the captain and coaches, presented the trophy to the state commandant as a token of gratitude.

The Training Officer of the Zamfara State Referees Council, Mr. Auwal Rabiu, also congratulated the NSCDC team, urging more participation from security agencies in state leagues.

He highlighted challenges faced by referees, including life-threatening situations, and called for increased involvement to enhance sportsmanship and security.

Meanwhile, the Head of Crisis Management, DCC Andi MG, praised God for the achievement and expressed optimism about defending the trophy in future competitions. The celebration concluded with Commandant Mustapha issuing certificates to the team and urging them to remain ambassadors of the Corps.
