The massive onslaught against marauding bandits in Zamfara state of northern part of Nigeria continued to gather momentum as the GOC 8 Division Major General GM Mutkut and Brigade Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army Gusau Brig Gen S Ahmed lead troops to bandits doorsteps.
The troops under the popular Joint task force Northwest (JTF NW) Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) in the state have intensify onslaught against the terrorists as they destroyed all bandits hideouts belonging to the notorious and wanted bandits kingpin, Bello Turji and his leutenants Danbokolo, Malam Ila and Malam Sale at Kagara, Gangara, Fakai, and Manawa villages in Shinkafi general area.
Media Smarts Nigeria has reliably gathered that the troops who were on clearance operation in the area on the 17tj May, 2023, killed many foot soldiers of Bello Turji and recovered 3 AK-47 rifles, 2 Magazines, and 2 locally fabricated Guns as well as Pairs of Military Camouflage Uniforms.
A senior military officer who hinted ‘Media Smarts Nigeria’ about the successes recorded said, the troops have killed many bandits while others escaped with Gunshot wounds to mountains beside Fakai Village in Shinkafi local government area.
Similarly, the troops vowed to continue the operation untill bandits are cleared from the area also in Situ burnt one motorcycle belonging to the Bandits.
Intelligence report says, several bandits were fleeing Zamfara State due to intensity of the military onslaught in the ongoing operation and air Bombardments around all the identified bandits hideouts.
