Bandits meet their Waterloo as troops rescue 8 kidnap victims in Zamfara

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) have today (Wednesday) descended on bandit terrorists, killed many, rescued eight kidnap victims and destroyed their camps at Bayan Ruwa axis in Zamfara state.

In a statement made available to SMARTS NEWS  by the information officer of the operation Hadarin Daji, Lieutenant Omale Suleiman said the feat was recorded in continuation with the dry season clearance operations by the troops in their Areas of Responsibility in the state.

Lieutenant Omale revealed that all the 8 kidnap victims were rescued unhurt and handed over to appropriate authorities to reunite them with their respective families.

On the 28th February, 2024 the OPHD troops during its continuous clearance operation at the terrorists’ enclaves at Bayan Ruwa axis which is presumed to be a crossing point of the terrorist in the state.

During the operation, the Troops engaged the terrorists with heavy Gun duel which due to superior fighting power the bad elements fled in disarray and abandoned their captors. Hence the troops rescued the victims unhurt.

According to him, the troops killed many of the terrorists, destroyed their enclaves and dominated the area with aggressive and confidence building patrols within the general area.

The OPHD  information officer added that the Commander Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI and General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Mutkut has commended the efforts of the troops for their continued doggedness and resilience in an effort to restore normalcy in the Northwest.
