NSCDC Zamfara Marks Civil Defence Day, Seeks more Support

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has marked the 2025 International Civil Defence Day, reaffirming its commitment to improving service delivery and ensuring public safety.

Speaking at the event, State Commandant Sani Mustapha highlighted the Corps’ efforts in tackling insecurity, particularly through Operation Fansar Yamma, which is yielding results in the fight against banditry.

He called for community and government support to enhance security operations. “The NSCDC, alongside other security agencies, is working tirelessly to ensure peace in Zamfara.

However, we need logistics and other support to discharge our duties effectively,” Mustapha stated. This year’s celebration, themed “Civil Defence: Guarantee of Security for the Populace,” reveals the role of the NSCDC in protecting national assets, infrastructure, and lives.

The Corps also plays a key role in initiatives such as the Agro Rangers Unit, which mediates farmer-herder conflicts, and the Safe School Initiative, designed to safeguard educational institutions.
