OPHD troops foil bandits attack on Zamfara Community

Last night (Sunday) troops of the Operation Hadarin Daji, OPHD, in collaboration with local vigilante foiled bandits attack at Bula village of Kaura Namoda Local government area of Zamfara State.

The terrorists arrived in the village in their large numbers shooting sporadically in the morning.  However they were forced to retreat back to the forest due to superior fighting power of the OPHD troops who promptly responded to the distress call.

Reports from the village suggested that Bula village has been in the target list of the terrorists who frequently attack the villagers, rustle animals, kidnap or destroy their properties.

Smarts News recalls that there was a similar attack on the community in the last three weeks in which the troops of the OPHD blocked the exit route of the Bandits, denied them freedom of action and rescued two women and a baby abducted from the village.

However, the new commander of the 1 brigade Nigerian Army Gusau and Sector 1 of the Operation Hadarin Daji in charge of Zamfara and Kebbi states Brig. Gen. S Ahmed who assumed duty on Saturday vowed to sustain the successes recorded by his predecessor and apply new tactics to professionally eliminate any recalcitrant bandits within his area of operation.
