Zamfara assembly staff visit new head of service Haidara, call for reforms

A delegation from the Zamfara State House of Assembly paid a solidarity visit to the newly appointed Head of Service, Alhaji Yakubu Sani Haidara, in his office.

Speaking during the visit, Clerk of the House, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu, described Haidara’s appointment by Governor Dauda Lawal as well deserved. He urged the new Head of Service to implement reforms that would improve the working conditions of civil servants in the state.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Chief Press secretary to the speaker of the Assembly, Bello Madaro Kurya, saying Aliyu also presented the Zamfara Assembly Service Commission law for possible implementation. He congratulated Haidara on behalf of the Assembly staff and prayed for his success in office.

Hon. Nura Dahiru Sabon Birni, House Minority Whip, assured Haidara of the Assembly’s commitment to working with his office to enhance public service delivery in the state.

In his response, Haidara thanked the delegation for their support and pledged to improve civil servants’ welfare. He emphasized the government’s commitment to pension payments and the implementation of the new ₦30,000 minimum wage.

He also revealed plans to address outstanding promotions of senior civil servants and explained that recent staff transfers were aimed at improving efficiency in the administrative sector.

The visit was attended by Deputy Clerk Barrister Nasiru Abdullahi Jangebe and other senior Assembly staff.
