Zamfara inaugurates AGILE clubs in Schools, engages students in advocacy

Zamfara State has inaugurated AGILE Schools’ Clubs to support girls’ education and empower adolescents across secondary schools in the state.

The initiative aims to promote enrollment, re-enrollment, and retention of students, especially girls until they complete their secondary education.

The clubs will also raise awareness about the AGILE Project’s Conditional Cash Transfer program, digital literacy, life skills, and environmental protection.

Students will be educated on climate change, tree planting, and proper waste management. They are also expected to help protect school infrastructure by reporting any vandalism to authorities.

At the launch of the clubs in Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Educational Zone, the team lead, Hauwa Muhammad, encouraged students to take the initiative seriously.

She stressed the importance of educating the girl child and protecting the environment to improve communities. Saying each of the students should endeavour to plant at least a tree in their respective communities.
