
Troops of Sector 2, in collaboration with the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued 101 kidnapped victims in Katsina and Zamfara states. The operation, carried out on March 17 and 18, also led to the killing of 10 terrorists in the Faru District of Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara.

According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, the troops launched an assault on a terrorist hideout at Pauwa High Ground in Kankara LGA, Katsina. This resulted in the neutralization of three terrorists and the rescue of 84 kidnapped victims, who were handed over to local authorities.
In Zamfara, troops acted on intelligence about terrorist activities in Bagabuzu, Faru District, leading to the killing of seven terrorists and the recovery of a motorcycle. Seventeen captives were also rescued from Tsibiri and Doka villages in Shinkafi LGA and are receiving medical care.

Operation Fansan Yamma urged residents to remain vigilant and support security efforts in the fight against terrorism in the region.
