The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command, has successfully concluded an intensive two-week training program for 200 personnel, specifically designed to bolster the Corps’ capacity in the critical mandate of VIP protection.

According to a statement signed by ASCI Mohammad M. Umar, the Command’s Head of Public Relations, the training was sanctioned by the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi. The initiative aligns with the Federal Executive Order 2025, which integrated the protection of important personalities into the Corps’ official responsibilities.
This maiden state-level initiative, the first of its kind outside the National Headquarters, aims to professionally orient and equip officers with the essential skills, endurance, and ethical discipline required to safeguard high-profile personalities.

The program serves as a proactive response to increased security demands and the evolving landscape of executive protection in Nigeria.
During the passing-out ceremony, State Commandant CC Sani Mustapha emphasized that the rigorous drills and tactical sessions were vital for restructuring the Corps’ operational efficiency and ensuring that personnel can industriously discharge their duties during electoral processes and beyond.
The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Alh. Yazid Attahiru, lauded the Command for its pace setting role in security capacity building.
The Governor’s office reaffirmed that a secure environment remains the bedrock of progress and investment in the state, praising the NSCDC leadership for its prompt initiative.
