A health care personnel, Registered Nurse Asmau Lawali Bungudu, suddenly died while discharging her professional duties at Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital Gusau, Zamfara State today (Wednesday).
Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, Auwal Usman Ruwan Dorowa who confirmed the incident said Nurse Asmau was at her duty post (NHIS Clinic) and had checked the blood pressure of about 30 patients today before she complained about a cardiac issue to a Doctor.
Auwal said, immediately Asma’u slumped and Doctors rushed to save her but proved abortive as she died instantly.
“The medical Doctors attempted to save her life but they couldn’t as she died instantly” PRO said
He noted that Management team of Specialist Hospital led by the Medical Director of the Hospital Dr Usman Muhammad Shanawa have handed over the corpse to the relatives of the deceased Nurse.
A family member of the late Asma’u confirmed to MEDIA SMARTS NIGERIA, that “Asmau left home hale and hearty this morning and went to the hospital where she works as a Nurse. She suddenly felt uncomfortable and eventually slumped and immediately died as confirmed by a medical doctor.
“Her funeral prayer will be observed today by 5:00PM at Malan Abdurrahaman House, Magama Area, Bungudu.” the relative added.
MEDIA SMARTS NIGERIA gathered that the deceased was about to get married as her wedding ceremony was fixed to take place in the next few weeks.
