The Zamfara State Police Command has cautioned motorists against covering or hiding their vehicle plate numbers, describing the act as unlawful and a threat to public safety.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, the Command noted the increasing cases of drivers concealing or tampering with their plate numbers, in clear violation of traffic regulations.
The Commissioner warned that vehicles found with covered or altered plates will be seized, and offenders will face legal action.
He appealed to motorists and residents across the state to obey traffic laws and cooperate with the Police in promoting peace and security, while urging the public to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
