As the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji OPHD northwest sustained an onslaught against the marauding bandits in Zamfara state, the troops of Forward operation Base Anka have successfully rescued a couple abducted by bandits in Anka Local government area of Zamfara State.
SMARTS NEWS gathered that the rescue followed an intelligence information received by the troops, that bandits invaded the outskirts of Anka township and abducted two persons (Husband and wife).
The resilient troops responded swiftly and moved towards the direction of the abductors’ withdrawal and successfully rescued the kidnapped victims and discovered that the victims were couples who were taken to Anka general hospital for immediate medical attention.
In a related development, the troops of forward operation base, FOB, Anka received a credible information of a suspected bandit courier who specializes in supplying military kits to bandits, they responded swiftly and deployed a blocking force towards the suspected direction which also lead to Dan-Kamfani illegal mining site.
On sighting the troops the courier quickly abandons his motorcycle and a Ghana must-go bag conveying, 46 military jungle hat, 26 camouflage T-shirts, 2 desert boots, 14 different variants of military camouflage uniforms, 1 desert hand glove and 1 motorcycle.
It could be recalled that since redeployment of the Commander 1 Brigade Nigerian Army Gusau Brig Gen S Ahmed under the instructions of the General officer commanding 8 Division Sokoto Maj Gen GM Mutkut the troops sustained onslaught against bandits and took war to their doorsteps and currently hunting the terrorists in Zamfara forests.
