
The overall conduct of the concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections in Zamfara state have been described as peaceful and commendable.
Representative of the Commandant General of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, ACG Magaji Shehu Tunga made this known while fielding questions from Newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.
ACG Magaji who was in Zamfara state on election monitoring mission on behalf of the Commandant General said the election process was superb and commendable.

He described the general conduct of the election in the state as very encouraging and gave kudos to the state chairman of the election security committee for a job well done.
Tunga noted that he went round polling units during the election, saying the atmosphere was peaceful and calm, except for minor skirmishes which were properly tackled by the security operatives.
He commended election officials in the state for firmly officiating the election, especially their determination to see that no single voter was disenfranchised.
ACG Magaji Shehu Tunga called on the electorate whom he described as election machineries to remain calm as they await pronouncement of the final results by the the electoral umpire. Among local Government visited include,Gusau, Bungudu and Maradun local Government respectively.
