Nigerian Army troops have dealt a heavy blow to terrorist groups operating in Zamfara State, killing six fighters, dismantling their camps, and rescuing an underage girl during a coordinated assault in the Sububu Forest area of Maradun Local Government Area.

The operation, confirmed by Captain David Adewusi, Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, was executed by soldiers of the 8 Division Garrison Strike Force under Sector 2 of the operation. It formed part of ongoing military efforts to dismantle terrorist strongholds and restore security in the state.
The mission began at Indulumu village, where troops engaged the terrorists in a firefight, killing two fighters and recovering one AK-47 rifle.
Advancing to Ruduno village, the soldiers encountered stronger resistance but eventually subdued the terrorists, killing four additional fighters. Items recovered included another AK-47 rifle, a magazine containing 28 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and two motorcycles, which were destroyed immediately.

In the course of further forest clearance operations, the troops rescued a kidnapped minor, Halira Ibrahim, ending her time in captivity and bringing relief to her family and community.
The operation also resulted in the demolition of multiple terrorist camps and logistical facilities located in Magaji, Galakaje, Filinga, and Kukatara, significantly disrupting the group’s operational capacity and safe havens.
