Brave Vigilante Kills 2 Bandits who Storm Gidangoga market, kill 3 traders, loot

A brave vigilante Wednesday evening shot dead two bandits in one strike while in an attempt to repel bandits attack on Gidan Goga market in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

An eyewitness who spoke to Smarts News said that at about 4:10pm of Wednesday a gang of bandits stormed the market which is situated 7 kilometers off Kaura Namoda-Shinkafi road, in their large number firing sporadically at traders.

Three men including malam Bako Kaura (having hearing problems)  One Alh. Bello Mai glass and another person were shot dead by the Bandits while attempting to escape.

“When the armed criminals had arrived, they opened fire on traders and pandemonium broke out as everyone was scrambling out of the market for safety.”

“However, a vigilante wielding a dane gun fired a shot at the assailants, killing two of them instantly. The vigilante quickly changed position to load local ammunition to continue to fire shots at the advancing gang of criminals even when some of his colleagues had withdrawn.

“They flooded the deserted market, looted goods and set many motorcycles ablaze, looted phones and other property worth millions of Naira and later abscond.

“Some military uniforms, Shadda (clothes) and other goods were recovered after the armed gang had withdrawn. Two of the slain traders were from Kaura Namoda town and their burial has been scheduled for today (Thursday) by 9am morning,” eyewitness said.

The spokesman of the state police command SP Muhammad Shehu could not be reached for comment.
